My gift from Kinley!!  Notice the pink muffins.... I knew she would go straight for those!

WEEKEND FUN

Wow, I can't believe I'm all caught up on blogging.  I oh so hope I can keep up!

One thing I forgot to mention is that we put our house on the market.... again.... for the 3rd time...  I'm thankful we have had tenants the whole time but I'm so ready to get rid of that house and find our new home here.  The market seems to be better now and our past 2 times to list it have not been at the best times for real estate.

We have been home the past few weekend which has been nice.  I feel like we go through phases where we are gone alot then we will be home one or two weekends then gone some more.

Friday after school I took the girls to get sno-cones!!  We have THE BEST sno-cone stand so close to our house!!  I saw that it was opened about a week ago and have been craving a sno-cone ever since.  It is alreay getting hot and it isn't even summer yet.  At least this summer I won't be pregnant!!

Saturday I spent the day cleaning.  Mopping, dusting, scrubbing toilets.... all that NOT fun stuff.  But I'm glad I got it done and have a clean house.  London helped out a ton by cleaning the playroom and her room!!

Matt and I had a party to go to Saturday night.  His mom was so sweet to come watch the girls for us.  I was worried about Holland but she did great.  Since the party was close we left to come check on Holland and went back just in time for the guys to start poker and the girls played LCR.  I'd never played but it was super fun and there were some crazy girls that made it even more fun just watching them get excited over winning!!!

I made these curtains for my friend that hosted the party.  I like how they turned out and it was fun to see them up in her house.

Matt and I didn't get in bed till after 1.  I was so exhausted when I heard the kids get up this morning.  Luckily Matt's mom came downstairs with them and then Matt got up and I got to sleep in.  I think everyone was tired.  Kinley and London laid on a pallet until after lunch and we all finally got dressed around 1. Matt did a quick run to Target to get the girls a new Alvin and the Chipmunk movie and I found a little something on Pinterest that I thought would be a fun afternoon project.... since we had been so lazy all morning.

A kid car wash....
This is our frame so far... Matt realized he bought the wrong size pipes after we had cut them all so he had to go back and get the right size.  It really didn't take that long to cut everything and put it together.  He still has a few holes to drill for more water to come out but we let the girls play in it for a while.

I want to add bright colored pool noodles and sponges and some type of curtain for them to run through.  I think they will really have fun with this all summer!!!

This is my inspiration pic...

I'm hoping to make a trip to the dollar store for pool noodles and sponges tomorrow!!!

SPLASH DAY

Kinley had splash day at school last week.  The school had asked the girls to wear a tankini to make bathroom breaks easier.  Well..... all our bathing suits are so worn.  Kinley has so many that have been passed down from London and I haven't bought new ones for the girls yet for this summer.  That being said, I went out looking for a cute and monogrammable (is that a word?) tankini.  I couldn't find anything so I hopped over to Joann and picked up some bright pink seersucker gingham.  I found THIS PATTERN on etsy and got to work!!

I used the size 3 pattern and got to work.  The bottoms came out great but the top ..... well.... it looked precious before I put in on Kinley and in Matt's word "it looked like a giant ruffly shield"

I didn't like the look, It looked almost big enough for London so I ripped the ruffles off did some cutting and made a new top!

I had some scraps left over..... literally scraps....so I eyeballed a pattern for Holland since she (1) needs a swim suit and (2) would be with me at splash day and of course had to match Kinley :)

Her suit came out precious...  Here is the back
I added another tie that goes across her back, under her arms.

And the front!  I also monogrammed hers!

I made a flower to pin on her sunhat and that was it!!
I love this pic.  I wish it wasn't so blurry.

Miss Kinley had a ball splashing around :)  I got so many compliments on the girls swim suits too!

And this is where K spent 99% of her time.  She was in LOVE with the slide.

When her class was done playing they got to have popsicles :)

Painting the sidewalk with water

And one more pic of Holland... see her monogram.... It was LATE and I was tired and after the G was about halfway done, I realized I had put her monogram in the wrong order.... oh well, the way she is growing I'll probably be making her another suit real soon.

DADDY DAUGHTER DINNER DANCE - FEB 2012

Our church does a daddy-daughter date every year.  Well, almost every year.  This year was a western theme.  London was so excited to go.  I was a little worried she was going to come home hungry.  They were serving BBQ and she isn't a big fan.  Thankfully they had mac-n-cheese so she didn't starve!!!

Matt did a great job of making sure he was a gentleman!  He wanted to show her what a real date is supposed to be like and how she should always expect to be treated!!  He picked her up at the door and brought her flowers!!

Getting ready to leave :)

Off to the Daddy Daughter Dance!!! And yes, he opened her door .... and had to help her into his jeep!!

They had a great time and even danced a little.  I think it is so important for Matt to take the girls out and spend one on one time with them.  I know Kinley will be ready for her daddy time :)

KINLEY IS 3!!

Kinley's 3rd birthday was right after my sister's wedding so I decided since most everyone was going to be together in Colorado that I would do her party there.... at The Broadmoor! I knew my Mom and Dad had a huge suite and I saw so many cute snowman things on Pinterest that I knew that's what I wanted her party to be!  A snowman party!!!  I could never have a snowman party in Houston AND I had high hopes of lots of snow so the little ones could go out and actually build a for real snowman, not the 5 inch Texas snowman made mostly of dirt we are all used to.

Well, we had a snowman party alright but there was NO snow!  I couldn't believe it!  But we had fun anyways.

Here are some pics from the party...
I got the printables off etsy

I saw these adorable snowman kits on Pinterest.  This is the one thing that got me hooked on having a snowman party.  I needed an excuse to make some :)  They were so easy and I'm already wanting to make more for teacher gifts.  Hmmmm.... snowman kit gifts in Texas????  Probably not the best idea!

The kit included a fleece scarf,  felt hat, big felt carrot nose, and I put 2 large googly eyes, some river stones, and made some cute wooden buttons.

I saw an adorable snowman tutu set on Pinterest too.  I made Kinley one (just changed up the colors a bit) and happened upon a pink sequin happy birthday top hat at Claires!

The Broadmoor has the cutest kids shop with adorable clothes and toys.  Everyone was so sweet to pick up a little gift for Kinley!  It was even better to know that they all kept in mind we had to pack her gifts and fly back with them so thankfully the gifts were small!

In hopes of going out to build a snowman, I made K a snowman shirt...

time for cake!

And with turning a year older comes the lovely yearly check ups!  Luckily Kinley didn't have to get any shots and the pediatrician was happy with Kinely!  Holland was due for a well child visit too.  She didn't get out so easy.... her poor legs got stuck 3 times.  :(

Kinley got her bday gift from us once we got back home.  Her requests this year were a Dora doll, princesses, and a princess castle.  After calling just about every toy store in Houston, I got lucky and found the exact castle I wanted to get her.  It's a wooden Melissa and Doug.  Grandpa got her the matching furniture set to go with it!

another birthday cupcake!!

I was so excited to get to send bday treats to school with Kinley!  She is so into princesses these days that I made up these princess cake pops!!

Since Matt's family wasn't able to be in Colorado we had them over for some birthday fun.  London couldn't stand that Kinley could open all her presents by herself this year.  I think she ended up opening all of them for her anyways.

sweet cousins!!
